Mark McNaughton joins the OFNTSC's O&M Service

The OFNTSC is pleased to announce the hiring of Mark McNaughton as a Data Analyst under the Operations and Maintenance Service (O&M). The O&M Service of the OFNTSC provides First Nations and Tribal Councils with analysis of there operations of community assets (water, buildings, roads, etc.). The service also works closely with the OFNTSC's Infrastructure, Housing, Environment and Climate Change services to provide First Nation communities with efficient means of operating and maintaining community assets.  

First Nations Asset Management Workshop - Manitoulin Island

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) in partnership with UCCMM, North Shore,Waabnoong Bemjiwang Tribal Councils and the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve will be hosting a three day First Nations Asset Management Workshop from June 2-4, 2015 at the Manitoulin Hotel and Conference Centre in Little Current, ON. 

TCA/PSAB 3150 Refresher Workshop

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) Operations and Maintenance program is pleased to announce two “Refresher” workshops for the Tangible Capital Asset (TCA)/PSAB3150 reporting requirements.

First Nations TCA Workshops




The OFNTSC will be conducting a series of Tangible Capital Asset (TCA) Workshops for First Nations and Tribal Councils in Ontario. The workshops are designed to assist First Nations understand the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) 3150 new financial reporting requirements on TCA's.

Enhanced O&M Funding reduced by 20%

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is informing First Nations in Ontario, that there has been a 20% reduction to the enhanced O&M (Operations and Maintenance) funding for the fiscal year 2015-2016 under the First Nation Water and Wastewater Action Plan (FNWWAP).  It should also be noted that FNWWAP is set to expire March 31, 2016.

New AANDC Protocol for Funded Infrastructure

The Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) has released a new protocol for AANDC Funded Infrastructure. The new protocol provides an up-to-date listing of applicable statutes and regulations that must be complied with (Section 1.5), and a listing of policies, codes, directives, standards, protocols, specifications, guidelines, and procedures to which a Council of a First Nation is required by AANDC to adhere to as a condition of funding under the Capital Facilities & Maintenance Program (CFMP).

First Nations Asset Management Workshops

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) will be hosting a three day First Nations Asset Management Workshop from October 7-9, 2014 at the Marriott Hotel Towne Place Suites in Thunder Bay, ON. There will also be a second session in Niagara Falls, ON from October 28 - 30, 2014. A hotel for this session will be announced shortly.
