OFNTSC supports the Little Native Hockey League Hockey Tournament 2016

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a proud supporter of the Little Native Hockey League Tournament (LNHL) taking place in Mississauga, Ontario from March 14-17, 2016. The OFNTSC provides technical advisory services to the 133 First Nations and the 16 tribal councils in Ontario. Each year the OFNTSC engages First Nations and tribal councils on water, housing, fire safety, emergency management, operations and maintenance, environment, engineering and fuel systems management. 

Student Co-op Profile: Valerie Bergman

Each year the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation engages First Nation students in post-secondary education to participate in a work placement co-op. Our second co-op student in our Thunder Bay Service Centre is Valerie Bergman, she is currently enrolled at Confederation College in Civil Engineering.  Bergman is expected to graduate in April of 2017. 

Student Co-op Profile: Sara-Lee Shonias

Each year the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation engages First Nation students in post-secondary education to participate in a work placement co-op. This year Sara-Lee Shonias is working in the OFNTSC's Thunder Bay Service Centre. Shonias is currently studying Civil Engineering at Confederation College.

OFNTSC supports the Little Bands Northern Youth Hockey Tournament 2016

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is a proud supporter of the Little Bands Northern Youth Hockey Tournament (LBNYHT), taking place in Dryden, Ontario from February 7 – 14, 2016.  The OFNTSC, a technical advisory service for Ontario First Nations, and tribal councils have provided the official puck of the LBNYHT this year.

First Nations Water Symposium Cancelled

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) today is confirming the cancelation of the First Nations Water Symposium planned for March 1-2, 2016. The OFNTSC is confirming the cancelation after meeting with senior government officials, and First Nations leadership.

Those that had registered to attend the Symposium are encouraged to contact the OFNTSC for reimbursement of registration fees if already paid.  Please contact Corrie Hill, Event Coordinator for the reimbursement process. Corrie can be reach at 416 651 1443 et. 229.

 

 

New Water and Wastewater Engineer Tricia Hamilton joins the OFNTSC

The OFNTSC is pleased to announce the hiring of a new water and wastewater engineer; Tricia Hamilton. Ms. Hamilton has over 10 years experience as a water and wastewater engineer in a variety of climates, and municipalities across Canada. Ms. Hamilton will be based out of the OFNTSC's Toronto Office to assist communities with their delivery of safe drinking.

All Tribal Council/Large/Unaffiliated First Nations meeting presentations now available for download

We recently had our All Tribal Council/Large/Unaffiliated First Nations meeting on Rama First Nation from October 28-29, 2015. The OFNTSC would like to share the presentations given during the meeting so our First Nations can be updated by government ministries on the services and programs they offer. We have also provided the updates given by OFNTSC services.

All Tribal Council Meeting - Oct.28-29, 2015

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) will be holding its All Tribal Council, Large, Unaffiliated, First Nation meeting from October 28-29, 2015 at Casino Rama, ON.  The OFNTSC will be providing updates on services offered by the Corporation, and updates from select government partners.  The deadline to register for this event is October 16, 2015.
