Tribal Council, Large and Unaffiliated First Nations Meeting

The OFNTSC will be holding its Tribal Council, Large and Unaffiliated First Nations meeting from September 14-15, 2016 at Casino Rama.  Over the course of the two days attendees will see presentations from Government partners, and OFNTSC staff on service updates. An agenda on the topics to be presented will be made available to attendees shortly. 

The OFNTSC will be sponsoring individuals to attend the meeting in September. Sponsorship from the OFNTSC will cover accommodations and travel for the meeting. Here is who is sponsored:

First Nations Water Symposium Registration Now Open! Oct 17-19, 2016

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is pleased to announce that in partnership with Health Canada, the OFNTSC will be delivering a First Nations Water Symposium on October 17-19, 2016 at the Marriott Gateway on the Falls, Niagara Falls, ON.  Delegates will be staying at the Marriott on the Falls across the street. 

Over the course of two days delegates who attend the First Nations Water Symposium will be engaged with sessions on capital, jurisdiction, and liability in regards to community drinking water and source water. 

2016 Student Achievement and Derrick Kamanga Memorial Award applications now available

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is announcing that the 2016 Student Achievement and the Derrick Kamanga Memorial Awards applications are now available for download.  This year’s deadline to have your application in is June 24, 2016 at 4:30pm EST.

The OFNTSC encourages you to nominate a deserving First Nations student today! Anyone can nominate a student - family, friends, teachers or school councilors. Each year the OFNTSC awards four Student Achievement Awards for a $1000/award and one Derrick Kamanga Memorial Award for $2000.

Annual Conference Presentations now available for Download!

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) recently completed its 20thAnnual Conference and Tradeshow in Toronto, ON. As part of ensuring First Nations and Tribal Councils have the most up to date information on a variety issues, the OFNTSC is posting the presentations that were given at the Annual Conference.  Attached to this posting are the presentations that have been made available to the OFNTSC to share. 


Operations Based - Live Exercises

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation’s Emergency Planning Service is announcing the delivery of Operations Based - Live Exercises (OBLE) to Ontario First Nations. The OBLE are designed to simulate an emergency management situation and test a First Nation’s emergency management plan.  The OBLE has four main objectives to accomplish:

19th Annual Student Classic UPDATED

UPDATE: The OFNTSC wishes to inform people who planned to participate in the 19th Annual Student Classic that the fundraiser has been canceled due to a lack of participants. Those who have already submitted payment to play will be reimbursed. The OFNTSC looks forward to seeing everyone in 2015 for the 20th Annual Student Classic. 


18 years of Siginificant Accomplishments

The OFNTSC has had a long history of working together with First Nations and Tribal Councils in Ontario. To commemorate the OFNTSC's 18 years of service, the OFNTSC has produced a pamphlet that highlights some of the most significant accomplishments of the OFNTSC over the past 18 years.

UPDATED: AFN National First Nation Infrastructure Conference and Tradeshow

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) will be holding a National First Nation Infrastructure Conference and Tradeshow on February 3 - 5, 2014  at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, ON.  The National Conference aims to bring together First Nations, government and industry to address infrastructure related issues for First Nations across Canada.
