Step by Step to Becoming a Licensed R-2000 Builder

   1. Contact your Tribal Council or OFNTSC to inquire about the Initiative

   2. Attend an R-2000 Builder workshop, complete the exam and pass with a 75% or    greater

   3. Obtain construction drawings and have them evaluated for recommendation by an    R-  2000 Plan Evaluator to ensure they meet the R-2000 Standard

   4. Construct your R-2000 demonstration home within two years of the R-2000 Builder    Workshop

   5. Arrange for Airtightness testing and pre-drywall inspection of your R-2000    demonstration home prior to Final Completion

   6. Arrange for final inspection of demonstration home and make necessary modifications    to home to ensure it meets R-2000 Standard

   7. Ensure R-2000 certification of your demonstration home

Once all measures have been taken and your R-2000 Demonstration home has been constructed and certified and you signed a licensing agreement with NRCan you may call yourself a licensed R-2000 Builder.
