Step by Step to Becoming a Licensed R-2000 Airtightness Tester

your Tribal Council or OFNTSC to inquire about the Initiative
- Interested
parties must demonstrate experience by documenting in writing training
and/or work experience to demonstrate a professional working level of
knowledge in:
- Building science, especially the concept of the “House as a System”
- Conventional and energy-efficient building practices
- Residential heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Indoor air quality concepts
- Have access
to blower door equipment that meets the requirements of NRCan
- Attend
an R-2000 Builders Workshop, complete the exam and pass with a 75% or
greater
- Complete a minimum of two blower door tests on R-2000 houses under the apprenticeship of a licensed R-2000 Airtightness Tester
- Sign an R-2000 License Agreement with NRCan
