Energy Advisor

This course, developed by NRCan, provides training for inspectors to perform energy audits on new homes under the EnergGuide rating service (formally EnerGuide for New Houses). As an EnerGuide advisor you will make upgrade recommendations about:

• air leaks and sealing
• the proposed structure's resistance to heat loss
• the energy efficiency of building components such as windows and doors
• passive solar heat gain and house orientation
• heating system efficiency and heat distribution
• air exchange systems, including exhaust fans in kitchens and bathrooms

Each participant will receive the NRCan EGH Manual And HOT 2XP Software. The course is followed by five evaluations that must be completed by each advisor being closely monitored.
