First Nations Waste Diversion Workshop

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is pleased to announce a First Nations Waste Diversion Workshop taking place at the Delta Toronto Airport Hotel, from February 23-24, 2011.

This two day workshop will cover topics such as blue box recycling, used tires, waste electronics, municipal hazardous and special wastes and used oil. Day one of the workshop has been designed to provide information on multiple waste diversion programs currently operating in Ontario, and specific information on how First Nations can access these programs including funding that may be available. Day two will focus on the hands-on planning specifically related to the blue box recycling program and designing a recycling plan for First Nations with performance measures and policies.

After the workshop has concluded, First Nations in attendance will be enabled to meet industry recognized recycling best practices, but also help ensure First Nations are receiving the maximum blue box funding available from Waste Diversion Ontario.
