Southern UFN - TCA Workshop

The OFNTSC will be conducting a (1 1/2) day workshop for the Southern Unaffiliated First Nations at the Holiday Inn & Conference Centre, Barrie, ON. The workshops are designed to assist First Nations understand the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) 3150 new financial reporting requirements on TCA's.

The workshop is intended for Financial & Technical managers responsible for First Nations tangible capital assets. This workshop will assist First Nations in identifying and understanding the new reporting requirements on Tangible Capital Assets and will provide hands-on training using newly developed tools that will inventory and amortize First Nations TCA's. It is essential to have First Nations financial officers' participation in this workshop due to the extent of the financial contents in the TCA spreadsheet.

Prior to attending a workshop it is required that each participant download and completely review the following workshop material: TCA Reference Manual; TCA Policy; and the TCA Spreadsheet.

To receive maximum benefits to the hands-on training we also ask that each delegate bring a laptop to the workshop with the TCA spreadsheet preloaded.

Workshop registration is free to any First Nations/Tribal Council delegates that wish to participate and due to limited space, registration will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.

First Nations are responsible for their own travel, accommodations and incidentals to attend the workshops.

The OFNTSC client base consists of all 134 Ontario First Nations, including 16 Tribal Councils, six Large Nations and 18 Unaffiliated First Nations.
