First Nation PSAB/TCA Refresher Workshop

The OFNTSC will be conducting a (1 1/2) day Tangible Capital Asset (TCA) “Refresher” Workshop on December 8 - 9, 2010 at the Travelodge Airlane Hotel, Thunder Bay, Ontario. 

The workshop is intended for those First Nation/Tribal Councils that participated in OFNTSC’s March, April or May, 2010 TCA workshops and designed for those financial & technical managers responsible for tangible capital assets.
 
The workshop is also open to any First Nation that requires the benefits of hands-on training and wishes more information on PSAB3150/TCA new reporting requirements.
 
We will be providing the participants will an understanding of PSAB/TCA’s new reporting requirements and offering hands-on training to show how to inventory and amortize TCA's using our Asset Register tool.
 
The OFNTSC has developed tools for First Nations i.e. TCA Asset Register, TCA Reference Manual and a Generic TCA Policy and designed to assist you in completing your PSAB/TCA exercise. You can download these tools free of charge, at  the bottom of this page. In addition to the training, the following important PSAB/TCA information will be provided;
 
·The latest PSAB/TCA information shared by the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA),
 
·First Nations experience & challenges in complying with PSAB/TCA new requirements and,
 
·INAC’s message on Non-Compliance as per their new Management Control Framework.
 
Our workshop registration is free to First Nations/Tribal Councils and due to limited space, registration will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.  The registration deadline is December 3, 2010 and as per the previous sessions, First Nations are responsible for their own travel, accommodations and incidentals to attend this workshop.
