Annual Sudent Achievement Awards/Derrick Kamanga Memorial Award

Each year the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) supports First Nation students in their pursuit of educational attainment.  The OFNTSC achieves this by offering the Annual Student Achievement Awards and the Derrick Kamanga Memorial Award.

The Annual Student Achievement Awards support First Nation students who are pursuing careers in the science and technology fields.  The Achievement Awards consist of a $1000.00 award, a plaque, and an invitation to attend the OFNTSC’s Annual Conference.

The Derrick Kamanga Memorial Award honours the contributions that Derrick made to First Nations in regards to water and wastewater treatment systems. Derrick was also a steadfast supporter of First Nations students pursuing careers in the engineering field. This award goes to a First Nation student enrolled in an engineering program in a post secondary institution. In that essence the OFNTSC each year offers a $2000.00 award, a plaque and an invitation to the OFNTSC Annual Conference.

This year’s applications are now available for download.  The deadline for this year’s applications is July 31, 2014 at 4:30pm. All applicants must provide completed applications, with required documents to be included in the selection process.
