2015/2016 Regional Fire Prevention Poster Contest Winners announced

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) would like to congratulate all of the participants who participated in the 2015/2016 Regional Fire prevention poster contest.  Over 70 posters were sent in from schools across Ontario to demonstrate "Hear the Beep when you Sleep".  Which refers to placing your smoke alarm in a sensible place, to ensure that you will be awoken in an emergency situation. 

The contest was divided into four categories Category One (preschool to Grade 2), Category Two (Grade 3 to Grade 6), Category Three (Grade 7 to Grade 8) and Category Four (Grade 9 to Grade 12).  And here are the winners of each category;

Category One: Sophia Turner, Grade 2, Laura McKenzie Learning Centre, Temagami

Category Two: Raven Shawanda, Grade 6, Shawanosowe School, Whitefish River First Nation 

Category Three: Camaron Loran, Grade 8, Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School, Akwesasne 

Category Four: Lance Tait, Grade 10, Chief Simeon McKay Education Centre, Kasabonika Lake
